To facilitate the sudden shift to work from home and remote working, there was an accelerated digital transformation that organizations undertook in order to continue business almost seamlessly. While there were growing pains, these were streamlined with continuous evolving to create effective and dynamic business tools. The shift of balance from offline to online has completely changed the business environment and judging by the effectiveness of the digital transformation and its success in helping businesses continue, it seems unlikely that this will be a temporary change but one that will last as it becomes ingrained in the social fabric.

Work from home and remote working are the new norm in the current worldwide setup. When the global lockdown happened, businesses scrambled to find ways to stay afloat and to continue providing their services. Thanks to the virtualisation of practically all aspects from cloud payroll to rostering, to meetings to real-time prediction and information sharing, to marking attendance, applying for leave are just some of the business aspects that have transitioned smoothly from being offline to online. 

Human centred

Despite there being less physical presence, business operations have shifted to be more human-centred which is driving the redesigning of digital business models. A majority of employers are taking more interested in the health, both physical and mental well-being of their employees with flexible working hours and roster systems to name a few methods that have been adopted to adapt to the new work environment.
